Île Blanche - Locquirec

The Congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit

In 1926, the International Congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit (see site of the Congregation) acquired the property of Ile Blanche and built, behind the manor, new buildings intended to become a juvenate (boarding school and secondary school for young girls wishing to enter religious life).

In the 70s, after the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), the juvenate is closed and the Ile Blanche is transformed into a Home. At first, the groups welcomed are mainly groups of Church, religious or lay, from the dioceses of Finistère and Côtes d’Armor. Little by little, the House opened to wider and diversified receptions, and became, at the turn of the 21st century, Home of welcome and Spiritual Center.

A space for reception, exchange and sharing

Today, while continuing to welcome Church groups as a priority, the Ile Blanche is a space for meetings, sharing, exchanges, reflection… in a spirit of openness, of listening to people who live in a spiritual quest, even outside traditional paths.

The community includes of 5 sisters: 3 Daughters of the Holy Spirit and 2 sisters from other congregations. They participate in the animation of the House, especially in the service of welcome and spiritual accompaniment, and they open their daily prayer to whomever wishes.
